2018 WAC/CMCA Conference!

At the OCSEA Women and Minority Affairs (WAC/CMCA) Conference this weekend, May 18-20, activists will come together to take on the issues facing public employees in the workplace. There will be particular emphasis on unifying around national attacks against workers’ unions and the impact that the upcoming U.S. Supreme Court decision on the case, Janus v. AFSCME Council 31, could have on public employees, particularly women and minorities.

Attendees will gather at the Sawmill Creek Resort in Huron, Ohio. They will hear from powerful speakers who support public employees' rights to form unions, one of the last defenses we have to protect public services and the rights of women and minorities on the job. Speakers will include candidates for Governor and Lt. Governor, Richard Cordray and Betty Sutton. See the tentative agenda.

This year’s conference theme is: The Dream Continues with Us.

The Committees will also hold a canned food drive during the event to distribute to a local food pantry.

    The registration fee is $110.00 and the deadline to register is May 10, 2018.  Registrations will NOT be accepted without payment. No refunds will be given after the registration deadline.  If you already have an OCSEA member ID badge, please bring it with you. Attendees who do not have an OCSEA member ID badge will get one at the conference.  

    Meals are included in the price of registration for all attendees. Please note: Attendees may purchase additional meal tickets for guests; however, they must be purchased in advance. Child meal tickets MUST be purchased as well. See below for extra meal ticket pricing. No meal tickets will be sold at the conference (no exceptions!) Attendees should indicate on the registration form if the require a vegetarian meal.
