Hands off public land; Stand up for national treasures

The federal Interior Secretary has called for President Trump to shrink a total of four national monuments and to change the way many other land and marine sites are managed, according to the Sierra Club. This includes shrinking national lands like Bears Ears by 85 percent and Grand Staircase-Escalante by nearly 46 percent.

The Sierra Club and others say this is public land, Under the century-old Antiquities Act, a president can only designate monuments, not destroy them, the conservation groups says. "He doesn't have the legal authority to do this, and we'll be seeing him in court," they said in a statement. The group says the public lands belong to all of us! Take a stand.
