Free and reduced college: Step up to higher education

Posted Sep. 11, 2019 by

How will you step it up?

Have you always wanted to further your education, but life got in the way? Now, your union is making it possible for you to earn your bachelor’s degree completely online for free, or at an extremely reduced rate!*

For those just starting out with higher education, you’ll begin your online coursework at Eastern Gateway Community College to gain your associate’s degree, and then transfer those credits to Central State University to earn your bachelor’s degree. The first two CSU programs are Teacher Education and Business Management, with additional programs planned for 2020.

It’s that easy.

Or, if you’ve already earned your associate’s degree or have 60 credit hours or more, you can enroll at Central State University to earn your bachelor’s degree.

So step it up to higher education and begin your enrollment process by filling out the interest form at OCSEAEducation.org. The next sessions for EGCC and CSU both begin October 14.

* All OCSEA active members and their family members will be eligible for an OCSEA Student Success Grant. For members who are also eligible for the union’s educational benefit—Union Education Trust (UET)—the cost for tuition, fees and books will be ZERO. Family members and other OCSEA members will pay no more than $4,000 out of pocket per year and many will pay much less, or even zero, depending on their FAFSA process.
