Take a stand against Union-busting campaigns

Posted Sep. 12, 2018 by

Flash back 65 years ago! Wealthy businessmen, intent on crushing the American labor movement, held a secret meeting. Their mission? Break Labor from within by lobbying for laws that permit workers to not pay dues for union representation.

Today, the National Right to Work Committee is a $33 million anti-worker lobby group that has been destroying workers’ rights for nearly seven decades––and was the legal arm behind the Janus vs. AFSCME case.

Since then, they’ve been joined by dozens of groups funded by millionaires and billionaires who are hell-bent on destroying public sector unions and the good public services OCSEA members do. They spend their money busting union rights and pushing public employee wage, benefit and pension cuts, prison privatization, attacks to paid leave and so much more protected by a union contract. They also blamed public employees for the most-recent recession, calling them "overpaid" and "privileged."

Anti-union groups, like the Buckeye Institute here in Ohio, are no different. They are taking advantage of the recent Janus decision, spending millions in social media ads and going door-to-door to try to get you to quit your union.

Tactics include:

• Collecting your personal data, including cell numbers, address and emails

• Harassing union members at home

• Deceptive (and expensive) mailers

• Lies over email, the web and social media

Watch and SHARE this video to see how you can take a stand against these immoral attacks against America's public workers! Tell them "I'm Sticking With the Union!"
