OCSEA's combined Women's Action Committee (WAC) & Minority and Community Affairs Committee (CMCA) Conference will take place May 3-5, 2024. All members are welcome to attend. The conference is being held at Kalahari Resort and Convention Center in Sandusky, Ohio.

The main conference will take place on Saturday, May 4 from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 5 from 8:30 a.m.-11 a.m. There will be pre-conference events taking place Friday evening as well. Registration on Saturday begins at 8 a.m., with the conference beginning promptly at  10 a.m.


The conference will take place at Kalahari Resort and Convention Center, 7000 Kalahari Drive, Sandusky, OH 44870.

Registration Is Closed

The Conference Call letter and registration form was mailed to all subordinate body presidents on March 1. The deadline to register is April 19. The registration fee is $150 per person and includes the conference information packet, breakfast, lunch on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday.

Registrations WILL NOT be accepted without payment. No refunds will be given after the registration deadline of April 19. Checks should be made out to OCSEA.

If you already have an OCSEA member ID badge, please bring it with you to the event. If you do not have a badge, you can get one at the conference.


  • The deadline for lodging has passed.

Room reservations must be made directly through the Kalahari Resort and Conference center. Attendees must mention OCSEA 2024 Conference to receive the discounted rate of $229. Contact the resort by phone number at 800-525-2427 with questions. 
  • When calling Kalahari to make reservations make sure to reference "OCSEA 2024 Conference" for the special rate. 
  • The total charge for the room for 2 nights is $589.20 ($229 at time of reservation and $360.20 upon check in). 
  • There will be a $100 authorization charge at check for incidentals and any unused money from that will be released at check out. 
  • If a chapter is paying for overnight rooms by check to Kalahari, the check must be received within 14 days of the conference and mailed directly to: Kalahari Resort and Convention Center, 7000 Kalahari Drive, Sandusky, OH 448701. Please note on the check and with any correspondence "OCSEA 2024 Conference" and include the chapter's information, contact person and a full list of names for overnights. 
  • Cancellations: Hotel reservation cancellations MUST take place WITHIN 72 HOURS upon arrival for a full refund. OCSEA is not responsible for hotel refunds. 
  • Rooms will NOT be guaranteed at this special rate after the cut-off date.    

Meal Tickets

Saturday breakfast and Saturday lunch are provided for attendees. Members may purchase additional meal tickets for guests; however they must be purchased in advance. Meal tickets are required for child guests. 

If you are a vegetarian there will be options on both breakfast and lunches. If you have additional dietary needs, please indicate that on your registration form.

The meal prices are as follows:

  • Saturday Breakfast: $25
  • Saturday Lunch: $30
  • Sunday Breakfast: $25
  • Child meals:
    >>Saturday breakfast: Ages 3 and under: free; Ages 4-12: $20; Ages 13 and above: same price as adult.
    >>Saturday Lunch: Ages 3 and under: free; Ages 4-12: $20.00; Ages 13 and above: same price as adult.
    >>Sunday breakfast: Ages 3 and under: free; Ages 4-12: $23; Ages 13 and above: same price as adult.

Hospitality Event

There will be a meet and greet hospitality event held at the resort Friday evening from 7:30-9 p.m. This will follow early registration starting at 5:30 p.m.


André Washington

Andre-washington-squareAndré Washington is always an invigorating speaker who exudes the passion of the union fight. Brother Washington is the State President of the Ohio Chapter of the A. Philip Randolph Institute (APRI). The APRI is a constituency group of the AFL-CIO for Black trade unionists that advocates labor, economic and social change. Additionally, André is an advocate for public employee union members as a Field Representative and Special Projects Coordinator with our sister union, OAPSE/AFSCME Local 4.

Dr. Audra Martin

Audra-Martin-squareDr. Audra Martin is a highly qualified leader with an extensive background in the clinical and social services field extending over twenty-seven years in various capacities such as non-profit, grass roots, mental health organizations, and public and private community agencies. Most notably, she enjoys working with the public, supporting community efforts, advocating for effective policies and has integrity to lead. She has a diverse background in advocacy work and has continuously made a positive impact on the lives of individuals and families in her community at large.

Jamie Trout

Jamie-trout-squareJamie Trout serves as the Executive Director for Eastside Community Ministry. Her leadership has helped the ministry grow and thrive, focusing on the needs of the community with an emphasis on building relationships and being a hand up, not just a hand out. She partnered with Muskingum Behavioral Health to develop a support group for women, called “emPOWER Hour for Women.” This is a group that focuses on empowerment, healthy coping skills, life skills, community service, and fellowship. She serves as the Vice President for the Muskingum County Hunger Network, is a member of the Domestic Violence Coalition, and a member of Zanesville Rotary Club.
