Central Ohio District 6 union leaders invite OCSEA members and their families to attend a special event on Saturday, Aug. 18 from noon to 6 p.m. at OCSEA headquarters. The Dist. 6 Family Festival for members and their guests will have games and activities for kids of all ages, including a bounce house, photo booth and dunk tank. Members can also learn more about their union benefits as well as register to vote and meet and greet with union-supporting candidates. Get the flier.
For the first 50 active members in attendance at the Aug. 20 meeting, they will receive the following for the upcoming Sept. 3 Coney Island Labor Day Picnic: 2-adult tickets, 2-child tickets, 1-parking pass and 12-drink tickets. All members and their families are invited to attend the Labor Day event, but only the first 50 at our chapter meeting will receive free entrance.

The theme is "Surviving Change," with two sessions: one about managing change and the other about thriving through transition and upheaval. Register online.

Ohio Labor will hold a day of action across the state to launch a nationwide campaign around educating and mobilizing working people. The goal? Advancing pro-worker, pro-union policies up and down the ballot this November.There will be events in Cleveland, Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton and Toledo. Regular and Executive Board Meetings
The OCSEA Corrections Assembly will host a special member-only cook-out with a kick! Not only will members be able to network over a burger, they will also gain special skills needed to organize members and build member-driven unionism in the workplace. The event will be held Saturday, Aug. 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at OCSEA The day will include a cook-out, organizing training and phone banking session where activists will get the opportunity to talk to other members about the importance of union activism and a unified voice on job.
This event counts toward steward certification. All members and their families are welcome and each member is encourage to invite at least one co-worker! RSVP by Aug. 10 at email@example.com.
