This six-hour course provides the fundamentals of stewardship. Participants will learn the grievance, discipline and Working Out of Classification procedures. This course is necessary for initial steward certification.

This course is designed to develop in-depth skills in representing members in investigatory interviews that may lead to discipline and evidence to win grievance cases and the rules of evidence used in arbitration proceedings.

This is a combined training with both the Basic and Advanced Stewards training. The Basic Steward training will provide the fundamentals of a stewardship. Participants will learn the grievance, discipline and Working-Out-of Classification procedures. The Advanced Steward training is a course on the elements of major contract articles. This course has been updated to reflect current issues affecting changing workplaces. These trainings will count toward Steward certification.
