AFSCME unveiled I am 2018, a major initiative to connect the legacy of the Memphis sanitation strikers and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. of 50 years ago to the issues facing our nation today.
AFSCME, our international union, is joining together with the Church of God, to commit to an 18-month initiative in which 2,000 worker activists will be trained to organize around issues that plague our nation and its workers. This includes standing up to poverty, income disparity and racism.
