Support Oklahoma, Arizona teachers in fair contract fIghts

On the tail of a major teacher victory in West Virginia last week, our sisters and brothers who work in Oklahoma and Arizona public schools are building strength to stand united for a fair wage and benefits.

In Oklahoma, a walk out is anticipated on April 2 if teachers and other school staff there do not receive a livable pay raise, says the Oklahoma Education Association. OEA employees say they have had enough with being among the lowest paid educators and school support staff in the nation. Stand in solidarity with OEA members and learn more about their "We're Stronger Together" movement HERE.

Also inspired by the union momentum building across the country, teachers in Arizona took to the streets wearing all red this week for a #RedInEd protest for a competitive wage increase. Teachers there say they don't want to strike but will have to for what's right! Stand strong with the Arizona Education Association teachers HERE.
