This is your reminder that a very important post card on contract voting is arriving in your home mail box this week. That post card will include the link to the OCSEA website with each chapter's specific voting dates, times and locations. 

Additionally, the Tentative Agreement (TA) will be emailed to members on Monday, June 10. The TA includes only articles agreed to by the Union and the State of Ohio prior to the Fact Finding hearings. Starting June 24 through July 5, members will have chapter contract voting events to vote on a combination of the agreements in the TA and the Fact Finder's Report. The Fact Finder's Report will be released to the Union and the State no later than June 19.

The items that will be included in the Fact Finder's Report, WHICH WILL NOT BE INCLUDED IN THE TA, include:

• Article 13 – Work Week, Schedules and Overtime;
• Article 29 – Sick Leave; Article 36 – Wages;
• Appendix L – Pay Ranges;
• Appendix N – Work Area Agreements;
• Appendix Q – Agency Specific Agreements (only Corrections and Youth Services).

Remember: Only active, dues-paying members can vote on the Tentative Agreement and Fact Finder's Report. If you know someone who is a non-member who wants to vote on the contract, let them know they can sign a card online or at the chapter voting location.

Before casting your vote on the contract, members are highly encouraged to attend a Zoom Contract Road Show to learn about the Tentative Agreement and Fact Finder's Report! Leaders must attend before holding their contract voting events. There will be two Road Shows on Monday, June 24 at Noon and 7 p.m.

RSVP today for one of the two virtual informational meetings so you get a reminder on the day of the event. You will also get an option to add the event to your calendar.

Chapter leaders can begin holding their chapter contract voting events on June 24 following the end of the first road show. Each chapter has scheduled their individual contract voting events through July 5. Get the link to access your chapter's contract voting event via the post card being mailed to your home.

The OCSEA Steward Conference will take place this weekend, with steward trainings taking place the evening of Friday, June 7, and the main conference taking place during the day on Saturday, June 8.

Check out the Public Employee Quarterly member spotlights including Michael Durst, a passionate member of Ohio Dept. of Natural Resources Chapter 6000. Michael works as a Naturalist with ODNR and loves working with the public, planning events, and educating Ohioans, especially children, on why nature is so important to all of us. Michael has worked at Dillon State Park in East Central Ohio since 2022.

On Earth Day this year, Michael helped lead programming for the public that celebrates our planet. This was a perfect reminder of the invaluable contributions made by Ohio’s public employee union members throughout the year.

Don't have an onsite bulletin board? The virtual bulletin board network at OCSEA.org/UBBN gives OCSEA members access to union flyers with a click of a button. This includes quick access to OCSEA bargaining news, events, discounts and more. Chapters who don't have boards are urged to email the flyers or UBBN link to their members and distribute at meetings.
