Convention Theme

“Solidarity is Our Strength”

This year’s convention theme, “Solidarity is Our Strength,” emphasizes the power of our union when we work together with unity and determination. As we gather for our biennial convention, there is much to discuss about the challenges and opportunities facing organized labor. Collective bargaining rights in Ohio are under attack once again and our union brothers and sisters in the federal workforce are losing their jobs in unprecedented numbers. Our theme also looks to the future of public service and how, by working together, we can grow and adapt to keep our union strong. As we have proven through the years, when we stand shoulder to shoulder as members and leaders of OCSEA, there is nothing we can’t accomplish through solidarity!

Singers needed for OCSEA Convention in August

Love to sing? Maybe you're in a church choir, community chorale group or a soloist in a band. The OCSEA Convention Committee is looking for members to volunteer as singers at the OCSEA Convention in August. Delegates to convention would be preferable, but it is not required. The performance days would be on either Thursday, August 28 or Friday, August 29. Both performances would take place in the morning session before the start of convention business. The Thursday performance would entail kicking off convention with the National Anthem and the Friday performance would entail singing America the Beautiful. If you are an OCSEA member and a singer who would like to be considered, contact Deirdre O'Neill-Wedig at 614-865-2604 or doneill@ocsea.org. Demos of performances are always encouraged.
