Labor Gives Back

OCSEA activists and members are the most generous people we know! That's why the OCSEA Board of Directors continues to spotlight the charitable and volunteer efforts of our members and chapters with the "Bob White Labor Gives Back Award."

Here at OCSEA we call the goodwill, volunteerism and heroism of our members "Labor Gives Back." It is an integral part of unionism and public service to be good neighbors and active citizens in our towns and cities.

More about Bob White Labor Gives Back Award

Bob White was an OCSEA activist and public servant who put community service before all else. To honor his tradition of community service and leadership, “The Bob White Labor Gives Back Award” (formerly the OCSEA Horizon Award) was created in 2016. The award is given annually to active OCSEA members and/or chapters, districts, assembly leaders displaying outstanding achievements in community service, charitable giving volunteerism or heroism. Because Bob believed in giving not only of himself but of his wallet, the winner of the Bob White Labor Gives Back Award each year receives $500 to donate to their charity of choice.
