Combined Charitable Campaign kicks off Aug. 28
We all know a friend or family member who’s fallen on hard times, faced health challenges, or needed help to care for a child or elder...or we’ve been there ourselves. This year alone, flooding and tornadoes have hurt thousands of Ohio families who have lost property and more. The State of Ohio Combined Charitable Campaign (CCC), a partnership between OCSEA and the State (CCC) can make a difference in the lives of those individuals and families who need assistance. This year’s CCC campaign begins Aug. 28.
“This is our annual opportunity to show that state employee union members not only help make our state run, but that we truly care about our communities,” said CCC labor Co-Chair Rocky Jolly.
The 2019 CCC runs from August 28-October 11 and lets state employee OCSEA members donate online through ePledge or by paper pledge forms. The campaign’s theme, “Your Campaign. Your Choice,” emphasizes the opportunity to support any of the more than 1,200 approved charities.
The CCC is a team effort by management and labor to consolidate many charitable campaigns into one. The campaign is codified in the Ohio Administrative Code, Chapter 123:1-28-01, which allows time for state employees to participate in campaign activities during work hours.
Since its inception, the CCC has raised more than $99 million to support those in need.
August 27-28: Early Bird Online Pledging
By making an online pledge of at least $2 per pay period or a one-time donation of $52 on these two days, donors will receive a stuffed cat, as long as supplies last. Watch for an email on August 27 with login instruction so you can make your pledge!
Kick-Off Events – Everyone’s Invited!
August 28, Columbus Kickoff Event: A Kickoff Charity Campaign Rally featuring CCC charities, giveaways, the Ohio State School for the Blind Marching Band, and a meet and greet with Honorary Chair and American Ninja Warrior Michelle Warnky will take place at the Rhodes State Office Tower Lobby, 30 E. Broad Street, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
August 29, Cleveland Kickoff Event:
A Charitable Campaign Rally featuring CCC charities, giveaways, and a meet and greet with Honorary Chair and American Ninja Warrior Michelle Warnky will take place at the Lausche Building, 615 W. Superior Avenue, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Download the CCC Kick off Events flier.
