Taking advantage of
her union’s FREE
college program
has become a family affair for
OCSEA member
Lolita Polk
and her two children.
Polk,
who works for the Bureau of
Workers Compensation, first
read about the Eastern Gateway
Community College (EGCC) in
the
union's
magazine. She decided to
follow up on the program after
she noticed a flier on a union
bulletin board at work stating
that OCSEA members and their
families can get their associates
degree online for FREE.
Just for being a dues-paying union member, Polk and both her children are now pursuing their education goals for absolutely no money out-of-pocket, saving the family approximately $20,000!
Read her story and more in the last edition of the union's magazine, the Public Employee Quarterly.
