As we prepare for this week's holiday, we want to take a moment to say Happy Thanksgiving and to wish all our OCSEA sisters and brothers a safe and healthy holiday. We hope you can find ways to embrace the goodness around us, celebrate family and friends and discover the thankfulness that this holiday represents.
We are forever thankful to all the OCSEA members who keep Ohio running, and especially those members who will be working this Thanksgiving holiday and weekend to keep Ohio afloat. You care for our most vulnerable and you keep us safe; you keep our economy going and maintain our infrastructure. We're so grateful for your dedication to public service.
For most, we hope you are able to slow down and spend some quality time with your family and loved ones. But please know, your union is not slowing down one bit. We're prepared more than ever to focus on the important issues facing public union members, including preparing for bargaining of the state contract. Members of the OCSEA Bargaining Team met this week in preparation. This will be a contract negotiations like no other, and we are "Fighting to Win" as we lay the groundwork to bargain with the State of Ohio.
The solidarity of the membership is needed now more than ever. Last week, we kicked off OCSEA's Bargaining Pledge Card Solidarity Drive! This Pledge Card drive will be the first of many ways your OCSEA Bargaining Team, working with the local chapters, will be reaching out to members to build support. Every chapter has enough pledge cards for every member of their chapter to sign one and will be reaching out to ask for your tried and true support of the OCSEA Bargaining Team!
