OCSEA member to Plain Dealer: Unions have value!

Posted Nov. 8, 2017 by

In a Letter to the Editor, OCSEA Board Member Jim LaRocca tells the Cleveland Plain Dealer that the Janus case, set to be heard before the U.S. Supreme Court next year, is just another attempt to rig the economy in favor of millionaires and large corporations. An unfavorable decision would set the country back decades, he writes, and eliminate the freedoms of public employees to collectively bargain.

The Janus case would make the entire country “Right to Work” for public employees and devastate public employees’ ability to speak up for improved wages and benefits and their rights on the job.

The case is expected to be heard early next year, with a ruling likely in spring or summer.
