Union Scholarship Application: What to do now, what to do later

Even in these uncertain times, OCSEA is moving forward with its Les Best Scholarship program and will be awarding a total of $12,000 post-secondary scholarships for the Fall 2020 school year. OCSEA members, spouses and dependents are all eligible for the union scholarships that will hopefully help families lessen the college debt burden during these troubling economic times.

While the scholarship deadline has been extended to June 15 due to Covid-19,  giving applicants a little extra time to procure required documents, there are a few things you can do NOW to get started. Don’t delay, get started!

What you can do NOW:

  • Download and fill out the application at ocsea.org/lesbest and send in now.
  • Complete the 1,000-word essay and send in now. Please note: The essay accounts for a large percentage of the scholarship scoring process, so it's best to get a head start now and pay attention to the prompts and instructions.

What you can do through June 15 (Where required):
Request copies and submit...

  • High school transcripts
  • Letter of admission
  • ACT/SAT scores
  • Personal letter of recommendation
