OCSEA members gathered in Columbus on Oct. 8 for the OCSEA District 6 Next Wave Conference.
The event for new activists and younger members, and their union mentors, focused on some of the issues that concern them and how they can make a difference in their union and community.
District 6 leaders like Rochelle Mickens know that new and young state employees are the future: the future of public service and the future of the labor movement. A record number of state employee union members continue to retire and are leaving a hole in public service and unionism that desperately needs filled.
