WageWorks updates members on Consumer-Directed Benefits Posted May 8, 2020 by OCSEA For members who participate in WageWorks Consumer-Directed Benefits, please note that there have been several updates as the result of the COVID-19 pandemic. A dependent care email communication was sent to approximately 1,000 employees enrolled in the dependent care spending account (DCSA) program regarding their eligibility for certain qualifying life events as result of the pandemic. Contact WageWorks if you did not receive this correspondence and have a DCFSA election. WageWorks also wants to remind participants of the commuter benefit that participants are allowed to make changes in coverage on a monthly basis. There are deadlines associated with making changes, for instance if an employee makes a change to their commuter benefit in June, this will impact what happens to their benefit in July. Contact WageWorks regarding your commuter benefit election. As a result of the of the Federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), WageWorks wants participants to know that - over-the-counter drugs and medicines can now be paid for or reimbursed through a health care spending account (HCSA) without a doctor’s prescription. Visit the HealthEquity, a subsidiary of WageWorks, website to get more information on HCSA updates as the result of the CARES Act.
