AFSCME members lend helping hand in Puerto Rico

Posted Oct. 10, 2017 by

After the hurricane devastation in Puerto Rico, AFSCME members didn’t let any barriers stop them from reaching out to help Americans in need, including AFSCME members. As part of joint relief efforts with the AFL-CIO, OCSEA’s sister union in New York City, District Council 37, sent nurses and construction workers to help begin to rebuild lives.

“This is what AFSCME does when times get tough. We step up for one another,” AFSCME Pres. Lee Saunders said. “Public service is about serving those who need our help.”
