The AFL-CIO Nationwide Bus Tour will be in Cleveland the same day as the Dropkick Murphys, so what better thing to do than have them join AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler for the "It's Better In A Union" rally!

 

The location of the rally is still being ironed out but will be within walking distance from Jacobs Pavilion where the Dropkick Murphys will play their concert on the evening of Sunday, Aug. 10. The AFL-CIO and Dropkick Murphys invite friends of labor to come together to let working people know the best way to take our power back is by joining with coworkers to form a union and to build up our own unions fighting for working people.

The Cincinnati Labor Council has announced the triumphant return of a cherished tradition, its Labor Day family picnic––the first since the pandemic and since the closure of Coney Island. The Cincinnati AFL-CIO's 2025 Labor Day Weekend Family Picnic Basket Celebration will be held on Saturday, August 30 from Noon to 6 p.m. at Stricker's Grove! The labor council invites all union members and their families for a day of fun celebrating labor's hard work! The event location is 11490 Hamilton-Cleves Road, Hamilton, Ohio 45013.

 

Tickets are $25 per person (2 years and under are free) and include parking, rides, mini golf, soft drinks, popcorn, snow cones, cotton candy, and ice cream. Stricker's Grove is a family-owned amusement park located in Hamilton County. Unlike other amusement parks, Stricker's Grove is closed to the public for most of the year. Instead, it is rented out for private functions like this celebration. It is the home of the Hamilton County Community Fair. It has a variety of rides and games for all ages, including two roller coasters, The Tornado and The Teddy Bear, originally located at Coney Island in Cincinnati. Stricker's Grove also has an 18 hole miniature golf, arcade with video games and skeeball, shooting gallery, and horseshoes.

The Central Ohio Labor Council AFL-CIO will hold their Labor Day Picnic on Wednesday August 20 from 5:30 p.m.-9 p.m. The picnic dinner is open to all union members and their families. Food will be provided but an RSVP is required to ensure there is enough food and beverages to go around.
