AFSCME has announced it is discontinuing its PayCheck Direct Program. AFSCME Advantage will no longer offer the merchandise-purchasing program to members. Paycheck Direct will continue to provide customer support for existing purchases, but AFSCME will no longer promote it and the link has been removed from their website.
This will not impact previous purchases or payment arrangements, but within the next few weeks members will no longer be able to create new accounts or order merchandise. Members remain obligated to make all installment payments for their purchases as they come due.
However, OCSEA continues to offer Purchasing Power, which is a way for OCSEA members to buy name brand products through payroll deduction. The computer/electronics purchasing program currently allows members to purchase computers, phone and smart TV. OCSEA is currently looking at the possibility of adding household appliances to the program.
