“We applaud Senate and House leaders for their willingness to reconsider maintaining the Correctional Institution Inspection Committee (CIIC) in its current form. The committee has been an important check and balance of a system that has seen widespread reform over the last decade. It was a thoughtful move to reinstate the committee and will serve the taxpayers of Ohio well.”
After all but eliminating the Correctional Institution Inspection Committee yesterday, House and Senate leaders had a change of heart and decided to maintain the agency, as long as the Executive Director Joanna Saul, resigned.
