Statewide workplace screening guidance announced

Posted Mar. 19, 2020 by

For those of our members who continue to serve the public on-the-job, please note that state agencies have been instructed to screen employees every day before the start of work to identify anyone who is becoming ill. This could include the preferred temperature check or basic health questionnaire in the event that thermometers are unavailable. If you have concerns about screening protocol in your workplace, contact your Chapter leaders or Staff Representative immediately.

The Ohio Governor and Ohio Dept. of Health Director announced these guidance protocols at a press conference yesterday. All Ohio businesses are highly encouraged to take these steps. Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 or higher should self-quarantine with members of their household. The guidance also encourages any and all employees who are able to work from home to do so.
