Citizens Not Politicians! Attend a community meeting on Issue 1 to create fair districts!

With less than a month until Election Day, Ohio's labor unions are working hard to educate members on the importance of a YES vote on Issue 1. This week, OCSEA President Chris Mabe joined union leaders and friends of labor in Cleveland to talk about the importance of passing Issue 1.

"If we have fair maps, we will have meaningful, fair elections, and that means our elected lawmakers will have to be responsible to the voters and not to extremists in their political party or the lobbyists who fund their campaigns," said Pres. Mabe.

Voting Yes on Ohio's Issue 1 would create fair districts and fair elections in the state by creating a 15-member Ohio Citizens Redistricting Commission made up of Democratic, Republican, and Independent citizens who broadly represent the different geographic areas and demographics of the state. Learn more at CitizensNotPoliticians.org.

We Are Ohio and Union Strong continues to hold Urgent Member Meetings throughout the state to bring together workers, labor leaders, good government advocates and supporters to raise awareness about Issue 1. There are six urgent meetings scheduled between now and Election Day. Pres. Mabe will be a guest speaker at the Columbus event on Oct. 24.
