We applaud Senate and House leaders for their willingness to reconsider maintaining the Correctional Institution Inspection Committee in its current form. The committee has been an important check and balance of a system that has seen widespread reform over the last decade. It was a thoughtful move to reinstate the committee and will serve the taxpayers of Ohio well.

Bill to track YDC, MDC individuals is on governor’s desk

The Ohio Senate voted to adopt language, and the Ohio House concurred, that will track the placements those individuals who have been moved from Montgomery and Youngstown Developmental Centers since the announced closures last year. As of this writing, the bill is on the governor’s desk awaiting his signature.
